Reigning Mrs. Nevada United States 2007, Tracy Rodgers, will soon be crowning the new Mrs. Nevada United States 2008. Rodgers reports that she has had an exciting year full of events and great opportunities.
Rodgers resides in Logandale where she lives with her husband Ken and two boys Derrick and Damon. Over the past year as Mrs. Nevada, Rodgers has had the opportunity to work with organizations aiming to help strengthen Nevada’s families.
During her reign she has met a variety of people such as the Mayor of Las Vegas and Mesquite. There have been great experiences at various charity events, guest speaking at numerous events, judging beauty pageants and much more.
Rodgers had a great experience participating in the National Mrs. United States Pageant which was held in Las Vegas as well.
“I have met countless wonderful people and participated in a number of events that have truly touched my life,” said Rodgers.
Rodgers had the privilege of organizing and participating in a fundraiser which brought in both money and toys for the visitation rooms at Child Haven. The fundraiser took place at KB Toys in Henderson. Rodgers along with 12 other reigning Princesses and Queens, raised over $1,700 in under six hours. During that time they signed autographs and visited.
“What an incredible feeling it was to know that you were making a difference in just a few short hours,” stated Rodgers.
Rodgers pointed out that the women and girls who participated in the event were “nothing short of extraordinary”.
“The generosity of their time and talents will touch the lives of many families for a very long time,” said Rodgers.
Rodgers is grateful for such a great year. “My biggest thanks would go to my husband, Ken, who has been my constant support and love.”
She would also like to express her thanks to her boys, Derrick and Damon, stepdaughter Kelly, and granddaughter Kylee.
Tracy said that none of this could have been possible without their love and encouragement.
“My sisters Erica Garrett and Jeanette Armstrong, and parents, Garth and Marilyn Jones were truly a strength and a source of wonderful inspiration,” said Rodgers.
Rodgers wishes to extend a special thank you to her “endearing friends”: Michelle Jones for being such a great workout partner; Katie Eastman for creating fantastic swimwear and being an all around go to girl for fashion; Arta Mortensen for her support and pageant experience; and Star Hill, Kathy Mckean, and Lisa Borunda for their countless phone calls and reassurance.
Rodgers would like to thank all of her friends and family, and the Moapa Valley Community for their endless words and letters of encouragement during this past year.
Tracy would also like thank her generous personal sponsors this year including Garth and Marilyn Jones and the Jones family, Richard Harris Law Firm; Russ and Michelle Jones, The Rodgers Family, Todd Swanson of Desert Orthopedic Center, and Janeen Wallace of Cookie Lee.
