Disheartened By Big Game Slaughter
To the Editor:
My letter is in response to the article regarding our “local sportsman” who felt the need to travel to Africa to slaughter their majestic animals (Jan. 2, 2008). I am very disheartened by the lack of respect and compassion that we show to nature. We have been given the ability to think rationally beyond instinct and make decisions to better the world, not to misuse our power to satisfy our egos. God is watching as we needlessly murder His creatures for our own entertainment and self-gratification. Shelly Wolf
Help Needed For Rodeo Club
To the Editor:
For the first time in three years, Moapa Valley High School has a rodeo team. This year, we are putting on a rodeo here at the Clark County Fairgrounds on February 22-23. So far, we have many entries from contestants around the state wishing to come participate in our rodeo. Unfortunately, with the rodeo fast approaching, we find that we do not have the funding that we need for our supplies. Without the funding and the supplies, we cannot put on the rodeo. So, that brings us to call on the help of the community.
Moapa Valley citizens are well known for selflessly supporting youth activities such as this one. We greatly appreciate all of the help in the past, but now we need your help again. We are very willing to accept any form of donations or sponsorships. All donors will be recognized at the rodeo. No donation or help will go unappreciated.
If you are interested in helping us out in any way, you can send your donations, questions or comments to the following address:

Please, we need the community’s help. Any kind of donation will help and we really need it. As we stated before, no donatio will go unrecognized or be unappreciated.
