With all the confusion surrounding the upcoming caucus here in Nevada, as well as the controversy shadowing those which have already taken place in other states, there are still many people who are unfamiliar with the platform of Congressman, and Doctor, Ron Paul.
Congressman Paul is a unique candidate in that he calls for an absolute return to the constitution; the restoration of Americans’ rights, and sovereignty; liberty and prosperity. Opponents say that his campaign to restore the constitution is controversial, even “nutty”, while supporters point out that the very fact that a constitutional platform is being labeled extreme should be a wake up call to every American citizen. They point out that the parties are looking much the same these days, with the GOP having abandoned its conservative core; that the constitution is hanging by a thread; that none of the other candidates are addressing the real problems, only filibustering with ultimately impotent strategies which invoke anything but the constitution.
Ron Paul has, in spite of being excluded in some cases by mainstream media, raised record breaking funding, from individual Americans, while refusing money from lobbyist or special interests.
His opposition to fiscal irresponsibility, eminent domain, and the NAU, which would void our constitution and erase our borders, his overall no-nonsense, no rhetoric approach, and his undeviating alignment with the founders’ original intent has earned him a large and passionate following.
There will be a meeting held for supporters to choose possible delegates, and for those who would like more information, Wednesday, Jan. 16th at Overton Library, at 6:30 p.m. Supporters unable to make the meeting are asked to call 397-6278 or 397-8246 prior to Saturday’s caucus for important information and to arrange a ride to the caucus if needed. The meeting is in support of Ron Paul. It is not a debate forum.
