Driving Infraction Escalates To Jail Time When Driver Resists
On January 14, Metro observed a vehicle driving erratically on State Road 169 in Logandale. Upon contact with the driver, 52 year old Debbie Pettit, Metro found the suspect to be extremely hostile and belligerent. After several attempts to try and calm her down proved to be unsuccessful, she was asked to step out of the vehicle to which she resisted. She further complicated matters by dialing 911 on her cell phone only to the dismay of the dispatcher. After several more attempts to persuade her proved futile, she was arrested and transported to the Clark County Detention Center where she was booked on the following charges: Obstructing a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Misuse of 911 System, Speeding, and No Proof of Insurance. Pettit will appear in the Moapa Valley Justice Court at a later date to face her charges.

Juvenile Girls Key Vehicle
On January 9, Metro responded to Moapa Valley High School regarding vandalism to a vehicle. Upon arrival Metro found a student’s vehicle to be intentionally damaged by the use of a key and another sharp object. Investigation led officers to two female juveniles who subsequently confessed to the crime. Both girls were charged with Malicious Destruction of Private Property. Both will appear in the Juvenile Court at the Overton Community Center at a later date to face their charge.

Investigation Leads To Arrest
While conducting an investigation into another case, Metro came in contact with 38 year old Damon Cook who was found to be an ex-felon from Utah. Cook failed to registered in Clark County as an ex-felon which is a requirement of the state. Cook was subsequently arrested and transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he was booked on the charge of Ex-Felon Failure to Register. He will appear in the Moapa Valley Justice Court on this charge.

Stabbing In Bunkerville
On Wednesday, January 16, Metro responded to a Bunkerville residence where a female victim had been stabbed by her ex-boyfriend 26 year old Douglas Bryan Bundy. After the stabbing Bundy fled the scene returning to his parents home in Scenic, Arizona at which time the victims family transported her for medical attention. Metro, along with the Mohave County Sheriffs Office and the Nevada Division of Investigation (NDI) conducted an investigation which led them to find that Bundy had been in a domestic dispute following the stabbing incident. Bundy was then found near the Nevada/Arizona state line where he was stopped and held until the Mohave County Sheriffs Office arrived and placed him under arrest for domestic related crimes that occurred in their jurisdiction. Local Metro subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for two crimes, Felony Battery with a Deadly Weapon with Substantial Bodily Harm-Domestic Violence and Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Bundy was transported to the Mohave County Jail where he awaits extradition to the Clark County Detention Center. Upon extradition back to Nevada, he will be scheduled to appear in the Bunkerville Justice Court to face his charges.
