Mesquite, NV – Local photographer and newspaper woman, Cindi Delaney, and nature photographer, Bob Stone, will present “Face to Face”—Studies in Portrait Photography at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery Tuesday noon on February 5. These well-known locals are both noted for their ability to capture outstanding photo images, and will help their audience learn some of the secrets of fine portraiture.
Anyone from the casual camera buff to the professional photographer can learn from these skilled individuals. Bob specializes in nature photography, and captures dramatic portrait shots of animals. Cindi operates Delaney Studios as well as being a partner in the Mesquite Local News newspaper and online news.
“Face to Face” is the February installment of the monthly brown bag art lecture series sponsored by Virgin Valley Artists Association. Held at noon on the first Tuesday of each month, the lectures help to inform and educate the Mesquite public of the art opportunities available in our area and the correlation between art and a broad range of life experiences. The program is free to the public. Everyone is invited to bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy during the presentation. Coffee and cookies and are served free of charge.
Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery features rotating exhibitions of original local artwork in all media. Operated by the Virgin Valley Artists Association, the gallery also offers live lectures, musical performances, book and poetry readings, and other events that help to promote the power of the arts in Mesquite. The gallery is supported through sale of artwork, which ranges from oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings to pottery, metal sculpture, wood carvings, jewelry, and more.
