Police Report

The information published in this report is a matter of public record. Incidents and details are submitted by the Northeast Resident Section of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Names of juveniles will not be used. This report is meant to serve as an informational tool for the residents of both Moapa and Moapa Valley. Domestic Violence Lands Spouse In Jail
On Sunday, January 27, Metro responded to a local hospital regarding an individual with injuries stemming from a possible battery. Further investigation led officers to find that the victim had been battered by her spouse, 49 year old Frank Dvorak. Officers responded to the suspects residence where they contacted and interviewed Dvorak. Dvorak was subsequently arrested and transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he was booked on the charge of Battery Domestic Violence. He will appear in the Moapa Valley Justice Court at a later date.

Two Arrested After Domestic Dispute In Overton
On Monday, January 28, Metro responded to an Overton address regarding a domestic disturbance. Officers made contact with the victim who stated her sons live-in girlfriend had battered her. Metro then made contact with 26 year old Michelle Black who was interviewed and subsequently arrested on charges of Battery Domestic Violence, Convicted Person Failing to Change Address and a Bench Warrant for Petit Larceny. The victims son 27 year old Jasen Hughes was also interviewed and found to have a Bench Warrant for Possession of a Hypodermic Device and it was determined that he had failed to register his change of address. He was arrested and charged with Convicted Person Failing to Change Address. Both were transported to the Clark county Detention Center and will appear in the Moapa Valley Justice Court at a later date.

Man Arrested On Warrants
On Thursday, January 31, 26 year old Brian Novads was arrested for failing to appear in the Moapa Valley Justice Court on three Felony charges. Warrants were issued for his arrest for one Felony count of Burglary, one Felony count of Grand Larceny and one Felony count of Possession of Stolen Property. Bail was set at $20,000. Novads was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and will be scheduled to appear in the Moapa Valley Justice Court on those charges.

Hit And Run Leads To Felony Charges
On Friday, February 1, Metro conducted a follow up investigation to an accident which occurred in Las Vegas at Decatur and Cheyenne. Witnesses on the scene observed a vehicle strike an 18 year old victim and then flee the scene of the accident. Follow up investigation led to the arrest of a Logandale man 44 year old Daniel Potter who was charged with Felony Hit and Run. Potter was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in the Clark County Justice Court at a later date. The victim was transported to a Las Vegas Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Man Arrested On Warrants
On Friday, February 1, Metro was notified by the Mesquite Police Department that they had 25 year old Jose Jiminez in custody. Metro made contact with Jiminez and found that he had two Felony Bench Warrants outstanding for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Tampering and Injuring a Motor Vehicle out of the Clark County Justice Court. He was placed into custody by Metro and transported to the Clark County Detention Center with bail being set for $11,000. He is appear in the Clark County Justice Court at a later date.

Erratic Driving Ends In Arrest
On Saturday, February 2, Metro Officers observed a vehicle running stop signs and leaving the roadway in an erratic fashion. The vehicle was stopped at which time a records check showed the driver 37 year old Jeffrey Scott Swain did not have a Nevada drivers license. Swain was subsequently arrested and charged with Reckless Driving and No Nevada Drivers License. He was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in the Moapa Justice Court at a later date.

Woman Arrested On Warrant
On Sunday, February 3, Officers arrested 37 year old Tina Robbins who had failed to appear for a trial which she had requested. A warrant was issued at that time and Robbins was arrested and transported to the Clark County Detention Center. She is scheduled to appear in the Moapa Valley Justice Court at a later date.

Domestic Violence Leads To Arrest
On Sunday, February 3, Metro responded to a Moapa residence regarding a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival officers came in contact with 30 year old Russell Fullerton. An investigation ensued which led to his arrest. Fullerton was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he was booked on Battery Domestic Violence with prior. He will appear in the Moapa Justice Court at a later date.
