Moapa Valley Progress

The Moapa Valley Art Guild recently awarded scholarships to three Moapa Valley High School graduating seniors. The three recipients demonstrated native talent and motivation to pursue a future in the Arts. The awardees are Jamie L. Turner, Kayliana Brown and Jessica A. Brandon.
Jamie Turner will attend Muskingum College in Ohio. In addition to her skills inpainting and drawing, she has won a scholarship for her performance on the viola and she has a straight-A average for her high school years.
Kayliana Brown plans to attend the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) where she will further her photographic skills which are considerable. She hopes to join her enthusiasm for motocross racing with her photography to create a career as a photo-journalist. She also intends to train in nursing, as it is a field that she admires and lives.
Jessica Brandon is also planning on attending CSN. She has a wonderful natural artistic gift and hopes to be an artist in the future. She has worke din both the visual arts and pottery while at school and has produced an outstanding portfolio of works.
All three young women were highly recommended by their teachers. They stand as torchbearers for the Arts in our community.
