The W. Mack Lyon Middle School Spring Pop Band Concert and Orchestra, Choir and Guitar Concert took place last week concluding a year of learning and hard work for students. Proud parents and friends attended both concerts to show their support.

The Band performed in the Mack Lyon Gym on Tuesday, May 20, under the direction of Mr. Bob Scann with the assistance of Band Instructional Assistant Pam Waite. “Pam is the mother hen, she keeps us all together,”

The concert program had performances from the four bands at the school including Beginning Band, Stage Band, Concert Band and Symphonic Band.

At the beginning of the Symphonic Band’s set, Mr. Scann warned the audience to watch closely at the conclusion of the band’s rendition of Tequila for a surprise. A surprise sure enough, Dylan Mortensen, Braden Geary, and Brandon Johnson got up and performed the Pee Wee Herman dance.

The Mack Lyon Orchestra, Choir and Guitar Concert took place on Thursday, May 22 in the Mack Lyon Auditorium under the Direction of Mr. Walter White.
