The students of NorthStar Commonwealth worked long and hard to learn the language of Shakespeare and it certainly paid off. The group performed “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Old Logandale School on Friday, May 30 to an audience full of family, friends, and community members.

The students along with the adult actors worked hard to learn their lines and gave a stellar performance. In between

scenes the Zephyr Consort provided Renaissance Music for the audience to enjoy which gave the play a real Elizabethan feel. Players included Flo Lund, Mary Lou Whitney, Jill Greig, Gaye Nelson, and Heather Lyon.

The students and parents performing in the play included Daniel Bledsoe, Lyndy Omer, Alec Stump, Joshua Omer, Sierra Staley, Brooklyn Trotter, Terra Stump, Raven Govelvich, Traci Omer, Laura Staley, Nicole Trotter, Dallin Trotter, Irene Hauver, Madison Hauver, Aleina Camphouse, McKenzie Hauver, Summer Omer, Teah Stump, Heidi Trotter, Ryana Govelovich, Saryn Camphouse, Miriam Leavitt, Nathan Trotter, Luke Hauver, Jacob Hauver, Easton Pulver, and Chandler Stump. Kids ranged in age from 5 years old to 22 years old in addition to the young mothers.

Sierra Staley as Hermia and Daniel Bledsoe as the renowned Duke of Athens in the NorthStar Commonwealth performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. One actress that must be mentioned was Traci Omer who play Bottom, a weaver (Pyramus). Omer had the crowd laughing each time she stepped on the stage. It was obvious that this 15 year old actress has a knack for comic timing and being on stage. Omer should be commended on her performance. As should all others.

Money raised at the play will go toward a field trip to the Shakespearean Festival in Utah this coming summer.

The show’s Director, Pamela Pulver even made

a cameo in the play tooting on the bugle. Assistant Director Brooklyn Trotter starred as Helena and Raina Stump served as Producer. All involved worked together to make this play a success. Special thanks were given to OLSHACS and Mike Shaw as well as the parent and children for their support and efforts.
