The celebration was an open house. There was cake and punch, balloons and gifts. Maylee Eide, the Great Granddaughter of Reuben Whipple a founding board member of the Moapa Valley Water Company, draws names out of the spinner. Six lucky customers were awarded with $50 gas cards as part of the MVWD 25th Anniversary celebration. The board also listed 1963 when pipelines and reservoirs were completed from the spring sources to the Overton and Logandale areas. Moving on to 1983 when the Nevada Legislature combined the Moapa Valley Water Company and the Overton Water District to form the Moapa Valley Water District which became effective July 22, 1983. Ten years later in 1993 the Moapa Valley Water District started upgrading transmission and storage facilities from Moapa to Logandale. This project was completed in 2003. In 2006 the MVWD converted its manual meter system to the automated system, the radio read system. And here the MVWD reaches another milestone in 2008 celebrating 25 years in Moapa Valley.
The current Board includes Chairman James Robison; Vice Chair/Secretary/Treasurer Guy Doty; and Board Members Glen Hardy, Robert Jones, and Ken Staton.
