Henry “Hank” Edward Easley

Hank Easley age 80, passed peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2008. Hank was born on March 23, 1928 in Glen Fork, West Virginia. He moved with his family in 1935 to California working from the age of 9 until he returned in 1989 from Operating Engineers. In 1944 at the age of 16 with his mother’s signature he joined the Merchant Seaman he was only 5 ft 8 in tall. In 1950 he served in the Korea Conflict as an MP.

He is one of eleven children; he was preceded in death by his father George F. Easley in 1972; his mother Lula Easley in 1982; sister Hilda Easley in 1920; sister Lula May Easley in 1947; brother Harold Easley in 1965; brother George Easley in 1989; and sister Wilma Easley in 1991.

His surviving brothers and sisters include William Easley, Eva Lee, Joyce Schramuk, Billy Easley, and Jim Easley.

Hank leaves behind a son, Michael Muniz (Becky), two granddaughters, Sophia Muniz and Natalie Tanner (Jesse); daughter Cynthia Shakespear (Weston); three grandsons, Henry Shakespear (Brittany), Andrew Shakespear (Jamie), Nicholas Shakespear, and a great-granddaughter Nadia Shakespear.

He loved his family with all that he was. There will be a grave-side service on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Logandale Cemetery. A celebration of his legacy will follow at his home in Logandale.
