CSN Classes In Genealogy And Preserving/Archiving

The College of Southern Nevada is offering a series of Genealogy classes. The series consists of nine subject areas which include the following: 1) How do I get started? Forms, hard copies, and logs; 2) Correctly recording information; 3) Vital Records, birth, marriage, death; 4) Using the best resources on the net and not; 5) Census records; 6) U.S. Service Records; 7) Land Records; 8) Genealogy Societies; 9) Immigration.

Students have the option to take the entire series or individual classes. Each class is available for only $15 each. The first class will begin on Thursday, October 23, from 3:00-5:00 PM, at the CSN computer lab. The rest of the Genealogy classes are scheduled on Thursdays beginning Oct. 23 through Jan. 8.

Preserving Life Moments is a course designed to help you archive and organize your photos, write your family stories, and preserve your heritage. The instructor for this course is Carrie Beckstrand. The course fee is only $15. The first class will begin on Thursday, October 23, from 1:00-2:30 PM, at the CSN computer lab.
