Rotary Encourages Participation In Cleanup

The Rotary Club of Moapa Valley is inviting the public to assist in Highway Cleanup on 8:00 am, Saturday november 1 as they pick up after those who, they say, “consider the world their very own trash can.”
“Rotary attempts to not be disheartened by those who continue to toss their trash along the roads of our wonderful valley,” said Rotarian Chris Green. “Take a look along all of our valley roads and we hope you will be disgusted at the amounts of trash tossed everywhere.”
Green said that the Rotary Club is urging local residents to talk about littering at home and in workplaces. “Discuss with others just who is responsible for all of our community spaces,” Green said.
Rotary welcomes everyone to bring family and friends and join them for donuts and to spend an hour or so collecting trash. Those who can help just need to be at the gravel area across from Wells road on Moapa Valley Blvd a little before 8:00 am on Saturday. Participants may want to bring gloves, Green said. Rotary will have trash bags and vests available.
Participants will be assigned a specific area along the road for trash pickup. A person will be assigned to deliver additional supplies and water to participants as they work their area. “The more helping hands we have the shorter the time it takes and we will be able to do the entire five miles from I-15 to Wells,” Green said.
