Moapa Valley residents can help light the way to a cure for cancer and honor loved ones who have battled the disease. During the Relay for life event on April 24-25, a beautiful Luminary Ceremony takes place. Candles are placed in Luminary bags and can be purchased in the weeks prior to the event.

Volunteers place the Luminary bags on the football bleachers at the Moapa Valley High School to form a word. Once all the Luminaries have been placed, a candle in each bag will be lit for a ceremony. During the ceremony names of those memorialized and honored will be read. You do not need to be an actual participant in the Relay for Life to take part in this tribute.
