OBITUARY:

Barry Gladwin
Barry Gladwin passed away peacefully and quietly on March 23, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona with his family by his side.

Barry was born February 11, 1949 in Darlington, England where he was raised, educated and started a family. He moved his family to Orange County, California in 1975, where he had a successful career in mechanical engineering. Barry moved to Yuma, Arizona in 1990, where he continued his career. He loved the outdoors, especially the desert, and joined the Yuma County Search and Rescue. Barry was a lieutenant and received numerous honors over his 19 years with the organization, until he became ill from complications with diabetes.


Barry is survived by his partner and true love Paula Nielens; her children and grandchildren; his daughter Jill (Ronald) Williams of Logandale, NV; his son Jim (Penny) Gladwin of Las Vegas, NV; his grandchildren Brok, Hannah and Hailey Williams, and Zachary and Nicholas Mosier. Graveside services were held Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 4:00 pm at St. Thomas Cemetery in Overton, NV. Visitation was from 2:30 to 3:30 pm Saturday, March 28 at Lake Mead Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held in Yuma, AZ at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
