A Pennies For The Cure contest was held last month between two fifth grade classes at Bowler Elementary. The February 6 Morning Muster at the school began the charge and all through February, each class turned in their coins. There soon appeared a rivalry among the teams in the lead, all knowing that there was a Top Selling Class Pizza Party celebration for their hard work and dedication. “I had so much fun going to each class and sharing in their excitement as the totals were announced,” said Relay Event organizer, Stacey Vassar. “We emptied so many piggy banks and coin dishes every week. A big thanks to Principal Jessen and the staff of Bowler and Im especially grateful to the students and their parents for supporting involvement in this worthwhile event.” Between the top two teams, $500 was raised, with the grand total coming to a whopping $903. |
