“We thought that (Extreme Motorsports) could just pick up the franchise again after ours expired so we didn’t renew it,”said Beth Kitchen.
After it expired, Polaris decided not to reissue the franchise. This was disappointing to Extreme Motorsports owners. “We intended to keep this store open,”said Extreme Motorsports part owner Mark Allred. “But our dealer agreement won’t allow us to sell out of here until a new franchise is issued.” Allred said that Extreme Motorsports had applied for the Overton franchise and has been promised the first option when it becomes available again. Extreme Motorsports has been operating in Mesquite for the past five years. It’s 16,000 sq ft store is located in a new section of town on Cimarron Ct. The store is also a dealership for Arctic Cat as well. Extreme Motorsports is committed to provide service to all of the existing Overton Motorsports customers, Allred said. “We want to win over the Overton customers by providing excellent service,”he said. Allred stressed that his crews could pick up and deliver vehicles for both service needs or sales. Extreme Motorsports has two certified ATV mechanics on staff. The dealership also has two parts specialists on staff as well as a huge supply of Polaris parts. Allred also discussed the advnatiage of working with a small dealership as opposed to a large city showroom. “Our sales team is made up of our owners,”he said. “You are working with them directly.”That means lower costs to the customer, Allred said. “You don’t have all of the dealer fees or freight and dock fees or setup fees. We just don’t stick you with those things.” Overton Motorsports has been selling ATVs to Moapa Valley residents since 1994. “It has been a strong business and has done very well,”said Beth Kitchen. During the good years the dealership was recognized for strong sales beyond the usual expectations for such a small facility and customer base. “This community has been very good to us,”Kitchen said. “We want to say just how much we appreciate the Valley for all of their patronage over the years.” |
