There is no need to worry when your computer or game system crashes, Moapa resident, Tim Walker is here to save the day. Walker is the President and Primary Technician of local company, CompuTech, as well as Las Vegas Video Game Repairs.

Walker has been working, hands-on, with computers since the early age of 14. “I used to take apart my parents computer and try to put it back together again,” said Walker.

For the most part he is a self taught expert. Walker attended MicroSoft school as well as SUU and UNLV and is four credits short of a degree.

Still, Walker has plenty of experience to draw from. He started his own business back in 2002. At that time, he was working part-time as a warranty technician for large companies such as Dell, HP, Compaq, and Sony. In the spring of 2006 he bought another business and increased his clientele. At that point, he officially went to work for himself. In 2008 he expanded and purchased the CompuTech company.

Computech offers a wide range of repair service. Not only can Walker fix computers but computer components, hard drives, card readers, DVD drives, floppy drives, motherboards, processors, video cards, network cards, wireless network cards, cable and/or DSL modems, monitors, and printers. He offers upgrades on hard drives, processors, memory, video cards, and CDRW/DVDRW.

Walker has experience in just about any area you can think of, Windows Vista; Microsoft Office; Intergy Medical software; Medisoft; Windent; VX Win; Officemate; Edible; View Point Construction software; American Contractor; Forefront; Lacerte; Pro Series; Quick Books; and Peachtree.

A new area in which he has ventured is video game system repair. Recognizing there was a need for video game repair he started by visiting Ebay. He purchased 20 broken XBoxes to use as test cases. “I fixed the ones that were worth fixing and I learned a lot,” he explained.

Now he is offering repair services for XBox 360, PS3, and game disk/DVD repair.

Walker has two machines that will repair scratched disks. “I can remove 70-75% of scratches if they are not too deep” he explained. The cost of repair is much less than replacing movies or music cds, he said.

Walker’s main office is located in Las Vegas on East Charleston. But he welcomes locals to drop their equipment off at his home in Moapa for repairs. Walker explained that, for the most part, repairs will be completed within two days.

Tim Walker resides in Moapa with his wife Bonnie (Leavitt) and their three sons, Williams who is 5; Phillip, 4; and David, 2. When he isn’t fixing computers he enjoys time with his family and volunteers as the middle school wrestling coach. Last year was his first year on the coaching job and he is planning on coming back for a second year.

Walker can be contacted at 702-638-1235.
