LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

When I was glancing through last week’s edition, Dr. Moses’ comments (“No One Asked me But…” Progress: August 19) regarding health care caught my eye. I found it to be misleading and offensive.

I think Dr. Moses needs to change his channel. It is not just the young and very old who “have more time than sense” that are protesting. These protesters have not been “dormant for almost fifty years.” Many of them weren’t even born in the sixties. Believe it or not some of these people have gotten off work to participate in a tea party because they have wanted their voices heard.

I am not a “grey-haired old white” person and I have participated in a tea party. In fact the ONLY grey-haired person there was a very well educated lady with common sense. She told me about the business’ she’s had in the past. She kept saying, “I’m not stupid.” She was very aware of what is going on. She told me that this is the FIRST time she has ever participated in a tea party. She, like many other Americans, has felt the need to take a stand because she too is deeply concerned about her country.

Dr. Moses’ statement that “these are not newly created protestors” couldn’t be further from the truth. That’s what the Democrats/Liberals want people to believe.

I have heard many people say that they were NEVER involved in politics until now. They have never protested about anything until now. They see what our president is doing and they are deeply concerned.

I do not like what is happening to this great nation! I’m concerned we have a president who can’t say anything good about this great country! I am concerned at how he is trying to take away our freedom of choice that many of us have grown to love and value. I don’t like the direction this country is headed!

Thanks to Esther Ramos’s inspiring article on July 22 (“It’s Our Own Fault” Progress: July 22), for the first time ever I wrote letters to our Senators. Thanks to Ester Ramos it was handwritten!

Health care has been a hot issue but what also causes me great concern are the quickly increasing Czars that this president has been appointing. These are radical people with controversial backgrounds and views. These people answer to NO ONE but the president.

Based on results, this president has no respect for our constitution. I don’t think the Members of Congress need to worry about being re-elected. If the president keeps up with this fast pace of appointing Czars, he won’t need the Congress to implement his radical agenda. He’ll have his Czars to do it for him! The members of Congress will just become one of us.

Please America, help us save our constitution and our God-given freedoms! This is a great country and it’s worth fighting for.
