children designed bracelets with Petroglyphs to tell their story and they made medicine bags to hold those items most precious to them. They explored the adobes and the Museum and heard “Coyote Tales” (from a collection by William Morgan) as read by docent Shelley Benkman. A brief interlude to quench their thirst and build up their energy with goodies provided by Sugar’s Restaurant in Overton, and off they went to finish sewing their leather medicine bags and attaching beads and feathers making those bags an extension of their youthful personalities.
As a special treat, the participants were each given a ‘Goody Bag” filled with pencils, fans, stamps and a wooden nickel. |
