church were happy to help raise the remaining $5000 owed for Wendt’s prosthetic legs. Several of the items for sale, including most of the furniture, were donated by the Wendt’s themselves. “I need to try to help,” Vicki says, “I can’t let everyone else do everything for me.”
In February Vicki and her husband Randy were stranded in a blizzard in the mountains in Southern Utah on a snowmobiling trip. The couple was found and transported to the hospital in Cedar City. Vicki suffered from extreme frostbite on her feet. In April, doctors decided that her feet were not going to recover from the frostbite and would have to be amputated. The Wendt’s are amazed at the outpouring of love and support from the community. Wendt has always done what she can to help others in the community, never thinking that she would be the one needing the help. She said that she is grateful for everything she has received. A Dutch Oven Dinner and Concert fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, October 3 at the church. There will also be a raffle and an auction held the same evening.
