school spirit by wearing either red and black, or blue and gold to support the high school. The dance and cheer teams gave upbeat performances that energized the crowd and built enthusiasm for the week ahead.
There was big turnout for the week’s main event, the Halloween Carnival, held after school on Tuesday. The three-legged race was a popular activity, as were the cake walk and traditional carnival games such as the ring toss. The dance area in the gym remained busy from beginning to end as everyone danced to new songs and old favorites like The Macarena. School counselor, Kim Delgadillo, was the hit of the party when she demonstrated her dance moves by leading students in doing The Twist. To end the week properly, there was a hot dog roast during lunch on Thursday to help the Pirates “roast the Dawgs”. Spirit Week, celebrated during the week of October 26-29, was a chance for students to show pride in their school and support Moapa Valley High School’s Homecoming Game. |
