Remember a few weeks ago, our lovely and talented President sent his representative down to Louisiana to view the giant oil disaster? This poor guy was supposed to take his Physics PHD, and his awards, and figure out how to resolve the oil-gushing problem. What? He knows nothing about oil field management, nor the problems therein. How embarrassing for him. What on earth was our illustrious leader thinking? (I know. That’s almost impossible to say.)
This is one in a long list of cases-in-point. How did our leaders get where they are? From the Attorney General, to the Chief of Staff, to the President himself, from where I stand, I see no qualifying accomplishments behind any of these people for the jobs they hold. They are like turtles balanced on a series of tall fence posts. What? Yes. Turtles.
Let’s say you’re driving along and see, all alone, and flipping his little feet, a turtle on a post. Just up there. You know he didn’t get there by himself, and who ever put him there is not around anymore to help him. Or to support him. He’s on his own. And you can tell he has no idea what he’s supposed to be doing while he’s up there. He’s neither qualified for, nor prepared for anything on a fence post. You can’t reach him to help him, so you have to just walk away trying to imagine what kind of idiot would do such a thing. Also, you might wonder how he will ever gracefully get back down where he belongs.
Given this, now you won’t be able to stop thinking about that turtle, will you? After all, it’s almost time for us to help some of our leaders down from their posts.
