As the summer of 2010 draws to a close, Clark County Parks and Recreation adult softball leagues have recorded another enjoyable and lively summer of softball. Teams from throughout the Moapa and Moapa Valley area enjoyed Tuesday and Thursday evening contests during this summer.
With five mens teams and four womens teams taking part in weekly double-head contests there were numerous opportunities to enjoy watching or taking part in some softball action. At the conclusion of this years league contests Cristine Johnson’s Logandale Chevron team finished on top of the Women’s League standings and Jon Jon Tom’s Moapa Tribe team finished at the top of the Men’s League standings.
Clark County Parks and Recreation would like to thank all nine of the teams that participated in this year’s program. There was a great blend of returning teams and new entries in both leagues this summer, which the staff hopes will lead to a strong co-ed league this fall and return leagues next summer. Between the action on the field and the kids playing in the complex park, riding bikes and big wheels and the tasty snacks at the snack bar there were many enjoyable evenings this summer. Winning teams each received championship shirts for their dedication and efforts.
Registration for the Fall Co-Ed softball league, which will be played on Thursday evenings, is currently being accepted at Parks and Recreation offices in Logandale and Moapa, please contact our offices at 398-7480 or 864-2423 for information on this enjoyable program.
