Moapa Valley parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend a “Child Safety Day” on Saturday, September 25 in the Overton Lin’s Marketplace parking lot from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The event will include certified technicians available to provide free hands-on child safety seat inspections and advice. Free bicycle helmet fittings and give aways (sizes XS to SM) will be offered as well as bicycle reflectors. Fingerprint ID kits & Amber alert M.I.L.K. Digital ID CDs will be available. Also available will be Child Gun Safety Lock Offs, Shaken Baby Syndrome Demonstrations & Safe Babysitting Tips, Home Fire Safety Tips.Food and drinks will be available for those who participate and there will be coloring books, stickers for the kids.
“It’s the responsibility of every parent and caregiver out there to make sure their children are safe,” said Penny Blair, Child Passenger Safety Technician, University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. “Children are precious and should be treated and protected as such. When it comes to the safety of a child, there is no room for mistakes.”
