McDonalds Unveils New Look For Diners

The dining area of the Overton McDonalds Restaurant underwent renovations last week. The restaurant is scheduled to be open today with Grand Reopening celebrations beginning on Friday.

The Overton McDonalds was closed last week to undergo renovations to the restaurant. For some this temporary closure may have meant an unfortunate meltdown of a toddler or two who were promised a Happy Meal. Mother’s who were hoping to skip out on the meal planning may have had one more meal to cook instead. Fortunately, the full closure lasted only five days. On Thursday, Sept. 16 the drive thru was open again to take orders.

“Yes we are giving your local McDonalds a more modern look,” said restaurant owner David Price.

In providing a more comfortable eating atmosphere, Price hoped to show his appreciation to the community who he feels has been the key to the restaurant’s success.

Price, who also own two other McDonalds restaurants in Mesquite said, “The community has made McDonalds a successful eatery and I wanted to show them that it doesn’t go unnoticed.”

Price said that he must take off his hat to Store Manager Rachael Paice and the 23 other employees who keep local costumers satisfied.

The renovations include a completely new color scheme. Out with the green and welcome a new contemporary color palette. Inside diners will fine the wallpaper an earth colored, striped motif. Where there isn’t wallpaper you will find large tiles that are a cool gray.

The restaurant will have a new self-serve drink counter surrounded by streamlined stainless steel. The most noticeable difference to the venue will be it’s seating. “When we remodeled the McDonalds in Mesquite, we used many different seating arrangements,” Price said.

A super size, u-shaped booth takes center stage. There is also additional aluminum seating and circular tables for two. Tables are lit by sleek, warm light bulbs that gives the diner a more sophisticated feel. The restrooms will have been completely redone. And in case you forget where you are, there in the center is an artistic centerpiece with the golden arches to remind you. Only these arches are made of quality blonde and cherry wood.

Although the renovation took place in a rather short time, the change is dramatic. With so many small details, customers may find themselves paying more attention to their surroundings. The new McDonalds is scheduled to reopen today.

Beginning on Friday September 24, customers will be treated to some Grand Re-Opening specials that last throughout the week. With $.99 Hamburger Happy Meals and $1.00 off Egg McMuffin Meal, there is sure to be something for all, one day or another.

And as if a great deal at McDonalds wasn’t enough, on Friday the one and only Ronald McDonald will be there! Kids of all ages are invited to come see him from 5-7 p.m.
