Car Show Highlights Multiple Grand Openings
A grand opening celebration was held by three newcomers to local business: Moapa Valley Tire and Wheel, Off-Road Extreme, and Carley’s Creative American Restaurant. As part of the celebration, an antique car show was held at the Las Vegas Roadsters location in Logandale. The car show was co-sponsored by local car club “Cactus Cruisers”. There were also cars from Las Vegas on display.

Shooting in Overton
Metro received a report of a shooting in front of the Red Rooster Bar in Overton. According to Metro Officers, the victim, Johnny Gonzales, appeared at the Metro Substation in Overton and reported that he had been shot in the leg. Officers called paramedics and proceeded to look for the suspect, who was later located at the home of Crongy Breedlove, Jr. and taken into custody.

State Park Road Closed
State Park Road Closed
The Valley of Fire main road sustained major flood damage in August and will possibly remain closed for several months. The State Department of Transportation and the Division of Parks have done a combined study which estimates a cost of $160,000 to complete the needed repairs. State Board Examiners will meet soon to determine whether or not the state has the funds to make the necessary repairs.

Building Purchased for Hardware Store
According to the new owner of the store, he plans to open a Coast to Coast Total Hardware Store in the Main Street building formerly owned by Bishop & Waymire. Heber and Zona Tobler own a Coast to Coast in Boulder City. They plan on putting in the same type of operation as they have in Boulder City here in Overton. The Tobler’s hope to be in the store and ready to open their doors by the middle of November.
