State Football 3A Roundup

In the north they are all battling for the top six places in the league. the top six make the tournament.

Right now Truckee is just hammering everyone. The Wolverines have not allowed anyone to score a single point yet this season. They stand alone on top of the 3A pile with a 5-0 record. Their recent victory came against Fernley 35-0 last Saturday. Ben Bolton threw for 307 yards and three touch downs.

In second place is Elko with a 4-1 record. Their only loss came to Truckee a 34-0 loss. Elko destroyed South Tahoe 55-7 last week. Ty Wilson rushed for 230 yards and 2 td’s. Quarterback Chris Davis threw for 2 td’s as Elko had 540 total yards of offense.

Third place is Lowry at 3-1 in league and 5-1 overall. Jace Billingsley has over 1400 yards rushing and leads the state in rushing. Lowry pounded Sparks last week 51-6 in Sparks.

Fourth place is a tie between Sparks and Fallon each at 2-3 in league. Sparks is 3-3 overall. Fallon was beaten in a close one with Spring Creek who got their first league win last week.

The last four teams Fernley, Spring Creek, Dayton and South Tahoe all are tied at 1-3.

In the south Virgin Valley had a bye last week. Boulder City got clobbered by Faith 55-14 in Vegas last week.

It will all boil down to the two league games the south has against each other. The top two go to the playoffs.
