3A Soccer Regional Championships
The Moapa boy’s soccer team finished their season by losing the Boulder City 4-1 in the region semi-finals. Borja Mateos scored the only goal for the Pirates.
Boulder City’s, Jeremy Estes, scored two goals with Lars Bremer and Daniel Andrade each scoring one.
The Pirates finished the season with a record of (1-20-1).
The Meadows school beat Virgin Valley 3-2 in overtime. Warburton scored all three goals for the Mustangs in their win.
On Saturday, Boulder City beat the Meadows 2-0 to qualify for the state tournament in Mesquite next week.
The Virgin Valley Bulldogs beat the Lady Pirates 5-1 to end the Lady Pirates’ season. Virgin Valley scored all five of their goals in the first half. Blake Dausen scored Moapa’s only goal. The Lady Pirates finished the season with a record (2-18-1).
On Saturday, Boulder City beat Virgin Valley 1-0 to qualify for the state tournament.
3A Regional Volleyball
The Lady Pirates ended their season in a 13-25, 14-25, and 23-25 loss to Boulder City.
Boulder City then beat Virgin Valley 20-25, 25-23, 25-18, 21-25, and 15-12.
Boulder City will travel to Reno for the state tournament.
Moapa ended the season at 11-22.
