Reeda Idonna Tanner, age 88, died peacefully at her retirement home in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born January 2, 1922 in Widtsoe, Utah to Ole Peter and Mary Nelsina Busk Nielsen. On July 5, 1938 she married LaVar Robert Tanner in Nephi, Utah. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1998.
Reeda grew up in Widtsoe. After she was married, she and LaVar raised their family in Payson, Taylorsville and Benjamin, Utah before settling in Overton, Nevada in 1951. She always loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with LaVar and their sons. She enjoyed gardening and being with family.
Survivors include three sons: Robert (Bette) of Panguitch, UT; Stephen (Sue) of Overton, NV; Ray (Margaret) of Las Vegas, NV; six grandchildren; Fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson and one brother, Jack Nielsen of Spanish Fork, UT.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Maopa Valley Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the mortuary.
