Robert James Cook, 89 years old, moved from Overton, NV to Heaven on Saturday, November 6, 2010 in Las Vegas, NV.
He was born on August 31, 1921 to Glen Bedford Cook and Cecil May Teachout Cook in Richfield Township, MI. He married Elizabeth “Marie” Wilson in 1946 in Flint, MI. They had two children. They were divorced in 1951. He then married Grace Pulsifer on Feb. 15, 1957. To this union 3 children were born.
Robert was a veteran of World War II, having served under General Patton, in the European Campaign. He loved auto racing and repairing bicycles, which, when in A1 condition, he would gave to needy boys and girls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Cecil. Also, 4 brothers, a sister, 2 granddaughters, Karlena and Madison Cook and a great-great granddaughter, Elexious Chrisp.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Grace, 2 sons, James (Shirley) Cook of Bull Head City, AZ., Myron/Beaver (Edith Ann) Cook of Overton, NV., 3 daughters, Joanne Sowers of Bonner Springs, KS, Lois (Cal) Hall of Overton, NV., and Roberta (Carl) Bryant of Lewisburg, TN. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren (with one due in March), 1 great-great granddaughter and a great-great grandson due any day. Also, 3 sisters, Lillian Nuttle, Beverly Stone and Barbara Stone, all of MI.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Calvary Community Church, 210 N. Andersen, Overton, NV. At 2pm
