3A All-State Basketball Teams Chosen

Moapa Valley Progress

After a Basketball season that will be remembered by Pirate fans for years to come, the Moapa Valley Pirates had two of its players voted on to the All-State first team. The vote was made by the coaches whose teams made it to the State tournament.

Hayden Cooper and Josh Thompson were chosen to represent MVHS on the team.

Virgin Valley’s Cameron Jensen was also selected.

Moapa Valley Head Basketball Coach Dallas Larsen was named as the All State First Team coach.

The rest of the first team was: Martin Jordan of Sparks, Dylan Taylor of Dayton and Peter Pielait-Strayer of South Tahoe.

The second team voted in consisted of the following: Nate Hafen of Boulder City, Kade Knutson of Fernley, (son of Jeff Knutson former Pirate football coach) Tyler Schroder of Fallon. Derrick Stanford also of Fallon. Xavier Rodriquez of Sparks, Brandon Cramer of South Tahoe, Rahuan Marin of Elko, Austin Brown of Elko and Grant Miller of Lowry.

Sterling Michael Snow of Lowry was named the most valuable player in the 3A.
