Audiences of all ages will get a fresh look at an old favorite when the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) and more than 50 local students present The Tortoise Versus The Hare, on Saturday, March 19. Show times are 2 pm and 6 pm at Mack Lyon Middle School auditorium.

Auditions were held for the MCT production on Monday where local children were chosen for roles in the play.

Among the roles to be cast were the wise Tortoise – Coach Shelley Bowlback, the conceited Curly Hare, Esther and her daughter Little Bonnie Bunny, the rascally Weasels, the singing service station Ferrets and the scaly Reptiles. Other roles include the Thespian Troupe, Curly’s Posse, the TV crew and the rowdy Curly Hare Fan Club.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. The MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout this week.
