OPEN FORUM: Human Equality?
By Esther Ramos
Think about it. Have you considered what it would really mean to all of us if it truly did not matter what family we were born into? If we were gauged by only what our actions included, this country and this world would be vastly different.
Our founding fathers intended that we be governed primarily by ‘Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God’. In doing this, those signers risked their lives by parting from the status quo’.
“When in the course of human events…” (means any events at any time) “…it becomes necessary for one people…” (means ANY people, which includes me and you).
‘Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God’ includes things like gravity, that are constant, always and everywhere, no matter who you are or who you think you are. Knowing this, man is answerable to his God, and beasts are answerable to man. I cannot rule you without your consent.
Let me quote James Madison, in Federalist 51: “What is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a new government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must…enable [it] to control the governed, and…oblige it to control itself”.
The nation’s founders knew themselves to be subject to, and limited by a higher power. This understanding is missing in our political leaders now.
Our current fearless leaders have been taught that government is a means by which to do many marvelous and wonderful things, and to change our society in countless and unlimited ways. In their eyes, the old fashioned idea of natural law becomes a bother to their estimations of what progress means.
So now we are being told how much we can earn by H. Waxman, and what we can say by C. Sunstein. We were never intended to be a country to be run by czars, who answer to no one. Where are the checks and balances?
Policies being proposed by and shoved into law by Congress against the will of the people, are both dangerous and wrong. But the principles behind them are even worse. They are a return to the totalitarian idea that some among us are equipped by nature or training to manage the lives of others without their consent.
Our political leaders today have been taught to view us, the people, as materials and money-bearing commodities to be managed and shaped and perfected by them. They get positive reinforcement for these bad behaviors every time they pass a new law outside of our vote, ‘for our own good’, and we stand idly by and WE LET THEM. Yes. Let them. Give consent to them.
By not stopping these destructive behaviors, we reinforce them. They believe we are not very bright, because we continue voting them back into office. Repeatedly.
Think about it. Isn’t it time we took back our freedoms? Isn’t this the year we should start unraveling the fiber of the web of federal laws that have us taxed into submission? Isn’t this a good time to just stop it in its tracks?
We’ve got to stand up at some point and say ‘ENOUGH’! Those destructive forces in D.C., that have us in chains, have no natural right to do this! According to our God-given natural rights, we must have an equal voice to those loud Congressionalists and Obamanites! We gave consent for them to rule us and I think it is time to take it back. It’s not too late to restore our human equality and our dignity.
