Helicopter Crash
A Bell helicopter, piloted by Van Snow and accompanied by Frank Wise, crashed just west of the railroad tracks at the end of Cottonwood Street in Overton. The two occupants were taken by ambulance to UMC in Las Vegas where they were met by Metro, who subsequently arrested Snow for driving under the influence. Snow was released from UMC with minor injuries. Wise had suffered from a broken back which required surgery.

Deputy Lamb stated that it appeared the helicopter had struck telephone wires in the area, which forced the helicopter to the ground. It appears the helicopter was only 30 feet above the ground, which was fortunate for the occupants. The helicopter was declared a total loss.

This feature is made possible by the Old Logandale School Historical and Cultural Society archives and the gracious assistance of Beezy Tobiasson.
