The American Legion Post 75 held its annual Tank Day event as a kick-off for fundraising efforts benefitting the Moapa Valley 4th of July festivities. Valley residents had the opportunity to stop by the vintage army tank and take a look inside. Members from the American Legion were on hand to assist both kids and adults into the tank for a look around.
Outside the tank a food booth was set up, selling hot dogs, chips, and a special “Moapa Mixer” drink for a small donation towards the 4th of July. T-shirts were also available for purchase, sporting this year’s theme “Pride in Our Past – Faith in Our Future”.
T-shirts will be available soon at various businesses throughout the valley. Jessica Whipple is also taking orders for shirts and can be reached at 379-5436. Sizes are available in both youth sizes and most adult sizes. Shirts are $10 each.
Donation jars will soon be available at businesses throughout the valley. The committee is gearing up for more fundraising events between now and July. Be on the lookout for opportunities to help out and to donate.
