MVHS Baseball Splits With B.C.

The Moapa Valley High School Varsity Baseball team split a two game series with Boulder City on Friday, April 1. The first game Moapa lost 11-2. In the night cap the Pirates won 9-8.

Boulder City’s Jack LaMarca was 4-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs as he led the Eagles in the win. LaMarca was the pitcher of record as he pitched a six hitter and struck out nine Pirates.

But this young Pirate team didn’t lose its composure and came back to hold off the Eagles in the second game. Lane Stringham led Moapa going 2-3 in the second game with 2 RBI’s.

LaMarca continued his hot streak as he went 2-3 with two homers and 5 RBI’s almost giving the Eagle’s the sweep.

Earlier in the week the Pirates beat Vo-Tech in Las Vegas 13-3.

The Pirates play on April 5 hosting Cimarron,and April 6 hosting Cheyenne. On April 7 they travel to Sunrise Mountain.
