The Robbins Nest Mobile Village is under new management. Overton resident, Vicki Wendt has signed on to manage the park, which is owned by parent company Ascentia.

As manager of the park, Wendt says that she is available to residents 24/7, although she lives off site. As manager, she brings a fresh vision to the park, including add activities to help bring the residents together. She is currently in talks with Clark County Parks and Recreation to bring activities to the residents of the park.

Wendt is also planning an Easter Dinner to be held at the park on April 23. A baked ham and beverages will be provided by Ascentia, and residents will do the side dishes and desserts as a potluck affair.

Wendt is also working with local Boy Scouts to provide yard cleanup for seniors who need help keeping their properties meeting park guidelines. She would also like for Scouts to adopt a grandparent through the park.

Robbins Nest has 153 spaces in the park, 53 of which are RV spaces. There are also two apartments and a small house in the park.

Ascentia, a company with a mission to provide affordable housing to those on a fixed income, was recently able to donate a trailer. The trailer was owned by a resident of the Robbins Nest who passed away. The family donated the trailer, and Wendt and Ascentia were able to identify a person in need to donate the trailer to. There is currently another trailer available in this manner. One of the requirements of the person who ends up with the trailer is the ability to do remodel work, as this trailer is identified as a “rehab special”.

Wendt is thankful that she is in a position that allows her to work and simultaneously give back to her community. “I am thankful to have a full time job,” she states. “I’m more thankful to have this job that allows me to interact with the community and help them.”
