Bigger isn’t always better. Local carpet and tile cleaning business, CBQ started out as a family owned enterprise back in 1993, running out of a single van.

Ken and Shawna Marshall, founders of CBQ, which originally stood for “Cheaper, Better, Quicker” started this carpet cleaning service and ran it successfully for many years. “It was a great job, one that we enjoyed,” said Ken Marshall. “It helped support our family as well as teach our kids respect and the value of hard work.”

As time has gone by, CBQ has stayed true to its roots. Greg and Carolyn Marshall took it over several years ago. They too kept it primarily here in the valley.

Then about eight years ago, Tami Blasingame stepped up to the plate to run CBQ, now called “Clean Better Quick.”

“The success and longevity of CBQ does not come only from those who have owned and operated it, but more importantly by those who have supported it throughout the years and made it what it is today,” Blasingame said. “We couldn’t do that if people didn’t appreciate the valuable service we offer.”

Blasingame, mother of two, points out that “sometimes you clean and clean your house, until you’re just dog tired not feeling like you have done anything.” One thing she loves about running CBQ is after she cleans the floors; she notices it gives people that “Ahh! moment.”

“They feel like something wonderful has been done, just for them,” she said. “That gives a great feeling of satisfaction.”

Blasingame recognizes that through CBQ she has gained more than work. She has gained a mutual respect for many of the locals and made friends that will last a life time.

“To be in people’s homes is an honor,” she said. “When people allow you in their home whether they are there or not, shows a great deal of trust and respect.Those two things are the hardest things to earn, and the hardest things to keep.”

While the business has expanded in regards to the services offered, the family oriented mind set has remained the same. Throughout the years the three different owners have all maintained the client’s best interests at heart, along with always guaranteeing their work. The services now offered include cleaning of carpets, tile and grout, all textiles, drapes, vehicles, and flood restoration.
