Local Family Advocacy Group To Hold Meeting
The Moapa Valley unit of Family Watch International is inviting all interested people to attend a meeting Thursday, May 12, from 7 to 8 p.m. at 1132 Thomas Bay Circle to discuss preserving and promoting the traditional family unit.
Family Watch is a nonprofit organization founded in 1999 to promote family as a unit between a married man and woman, according to its website. It works at the local, national and international level to preserve marriage and the traditional family and provide family-based humanitarian aid to orphans and other children.
Areas of interest for the local Family Watch unit include family autonomy, motherhood, fatherhood, sex education, pornography, parental rights, marriage, national sovereignty, adoption, human sexuality, abstinence, divorce, freedom of religion, protection of life and orphans, according to Bobbi Chandler, a Moapa Valley member.
“Our mission statement is to stem the tide of family disintegration through education, family policy advocacy and family-based humanitarian aid,” Chandler said in a news release.
“It is urgent that we put a stop to agendas to destroy the family locally, nationally and worldwide and we would ask you to attend this meeting,” Chandler said.
