I would like to add to your article about the local youth cheerleading team (Local Cheerleading Teams Compete In Mesquite: Progress May 4, 2011).

I would like to tell about what a wonderful coach they have. Jeannien Hancock is a single mother to a wonderful little girl, works at least two other jobs, and then coaches these girls.

At the competition in Mesquite Jeannien was very supportive of the other teams and has taught the girls to cheer for those we competed against.

She spends many hours with these girls to prepare them for competition, then had to go and care for her daughter and also work at Lin’s or drive to Mesquite to work there. She is a very special woman that deserves an enormous amount of credit for all her hard work.

At competition our girls were polite, friendly and courteous to the other teams and individuals competing. That, in large part, is due to this great coach.

My husband and I have two girls that have had “Coach Jen” coaching them for the last two years. They love her and our family is grateful for all the time and talent she puts in for our girls. Thank you Coach for everything.
