It is being said that America’s day is drawing to a close; our allies no longer trust us and our enemies no longer fear us. The dollar is being replaced in international markets and we have lost our place as the superpower we once were, as the bastion of freedom among all nations.

We have no one but ourselves to blame. Our own apathy and inaction have allowed this to happen. Collectively, we have not done all we could, and individually many of us have done nothing.

We are all busy dealing with our own private lives. But if we are not willing to step out and tend to our national interests we soon will not have to worry about the pesky details of running our own lives; the government will relieve us of the burden of choice.

Our federal government has become almost hopelessly corrupted stealing from the citizens and shredding our liberties. And why not? The Founders warned us that a free nation requires an educated, involved, and accountable citizenry. When a government realizes that the people will look the other way while they raid the treasury, enact illegal “laws” and statutes, violate the Constitution, and even put their hands in our children’s pants, exactly what do they think they cannot get away with? We have paid dearly for our lack of vigilance, but the price will rise if we don‘t stop it.

My intent is not to accuse or offend, but to awaken and activate. If we have one more chance to restore our Constitution and save our nation it will be in the 2012 elections. It will require action on the part of each citizen. It’s time to rally the troops! It’s time to understand that your neighbor is not responsible for defending your liberty. You are!

I urge all registered Republicans to join the CCRCC and exercise your power to determine the fate of your nation. The next meeting will be held on May 17 at 6:00 at the Silverton Hotel (I-15 and Blue Diamond Rd.). You must attend two consecutive meetings to be able to vote, and there are not many meetings left before the elections.

Congressman Dr. Ron Paul will be addressing the committee at the May 17 meeting. Dr. Paul will be running in 2012 and though we have had to learn the hard way, the nation is now much more open to his message of Constitutional adherence. Dr. Paul is a man who we don’t have to wonder if we can trust. His record, both in public service and private practice, are witness to his commitment, integrity, experience, and vast knowledge and understanding of our Constitution.

Regardless of which candidate you choose to support, this meeting will be an important one. Please come, hear Dr. Paul’s message, and make an informed decision on if and where you will stand.
