LETTER: Plea For Riders to Slow Down
We’re so pleased to read Jack Morgan’s letter in a recent Progress (Noisy ATVers, The Pleasure Is All Yours: Progress, May 4, 2011).
We feel many of the motorcycle/ATV riders don’t realize what the dust from these vehicles causes in our neighborhood in Logandale, also along the railroad tracks, as well as the noise.
The dust is becoming a health issue for both of us. Our road is also torn up by these vehicles with ruts and destruction of the road base. The speed limit along Pioneer Road is 25 mph but is seldom observed. At 25 mph the dust is not as bad, but riders often drive down this road at 40 mph or more.
We would appreciate a little consideration of our neighborhood by these riders. This valley has worked hard to create motorcycle/ATV trails for public use. Please use these trails or just slow down when you go by our homes.
