Two Pirate golfers competed in the state championship last week. The tournament was held at Hidden Valley Country club in Reno, Nevada.
Cody Kelly finished the tournament with a 157 total for the two day total. He finished in 7th place.
Marcus Delgadillo shot a 171 over the two day period and finished in 17th place.
Only one team from the south qualified for the tournament. Virgin Valley shot a team total of 846 for third place. That was 47 strokes behind the team champion Churchill County (Fallon) who stayed under 800 with a 799.
The Bulldogs were 34 strokes behind Lowry who finished second. Elko finished 4th with a team total 856.
This was the beginning of a wonderful week for new-comer Fallon who dropped from the 4A at the beginning of this year.
