LETTER: Compromise?

Really? Are you new? Now I’m being told that I should be more willing to compromise! Excuse me? If I had wanted to compromise, I would have voted for a bunch of Democrats. Any of you who know me can hear my answers to these questions. Short and repetitive. No conversation required. I enjoy a world in which right is still an advisable path, wrong is still uncomfortable at best, and never the twain shall be muddled.

A person I once admired as a stalwart of truth, told me he envied my ability to see a short yet correct answer to many complex problems, and the neat composed little reality that I live in, inside my head. What this man didn’t ever realize is that I’ve developed at least nine different ways of saying “NO”.

Now about the president. His handlers have restructured his veneer and his prompters have different words on them. He’s the same. It’s like when you re-decorate your kitchen and put on new cabinet doors. Looks new and shiny, but has all of the same content. That’s him. Shiny. Don’t look inside.

In closing I will quote an old Yiddish saying, “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there”.

That’s him.
