Local Boys of Dark Side Motorcycle Club attended a Motorcycle Racing Association of Nevada (MRAN) Desert Race held in Panaca, Nevada on Saturday, May 21, 2011. The race, which was the fifth round of the MRAN season, was hosted by Silver State Trail Blazers Motorcycle Club. It was the first race that Silver State Trail Blazers has ever hosted and attendees said that it was a huge success.
Racers started arriving on Friday, May 20, to sign up and set up camping spots for the weekend.
Many of the local riders, all members of the Dark Side Motorcyle Club, had a successful weekend taking many of the 1st place spots in several divisions. Tryston Woods won first place in the Open Novice Class. Braeden St John won first place in the 65cc Expert Class. Cade Neilson won 2nd Place in the 85cc Expert Class. Travis Falls won 1st place in the 65cc Amateur class. Kyle Benson won 1st place in the 65cc Novice Class. Cody Ruff won 1st place in the 50cc Novice class.
Local boys have already begun preparing and practicing for the upcoming season race which will be held in Ely, Nevada.
Dark Side Motorcycle club will be holding a local Night Race on August 13 in Logandale. This will be a benefit for Tyler Nelson, of Mesquite, Nevada, who suffered an injury in a recent race which left him paralyzed.
