Moapa Valley football will open the season at 12:01 a.m. on August the 4th this year. This is a week earlier than the rest of the state with the exception of Bishop Gorman.

The Pirates are scheduled to play the defending State 3A champions from the state of Arizona, the Show Lo High School Cougars at the home of the NFL Arizona Cardinals in Glendale Arizona. This is a stadium where Super Bowls have been played and national championships won at the Fiesta Bowl.

Boot camp will have the seniors through the freshman from August 4-6. Boot camp check in starts at 10 P.M. on Wednesday night Aug. 3. The first official day of practice will be Aug. 8 for the sophomores, juniors and seniors with the freshmen starting on the Aug. 11.

The first game is the Sollenberger Classic which has expanded to include a small school champion from each state. Truckee declined the invite due to travel and lack of experience coming back this year. The game will be played on Saturday August 20 with the NIAA picking up the bill. Bishop Gorman will represent the 4A.

All fall sports Athletes must have their sports packet in to the high school sports office before they can practice. All freshman and juniors must have a physical.

Football camp is July the 12-16 at Snow College in Ephraim Utah.

Also the weight room is open Monday thru Friday from 6-8 P.M. It’s open for all high school athletes.
