Mesquite Resort Association board members and grant recipients gathered last week to announce a present grant monies to local charitable organization, schools and non-profits.

The Mesquite Resort Association (MRA) announced the recipients of its community grant awards at a meeting held Tuesday, June 28.

The MRA, which is made up of Mesquite resort properties, CasaBlanca, Virgin River and Eureka; annually donates $25,000 to local charitable organizations and local schools. Each fall the MRA accepts applications for donation requests for the upcoming calendar year. The MRA Advisory Board, made up of a cross section of local business people, review the applications and present recommendations to the MRA for approval.

At the recent meeting, the board acknowledged the grant recipients of the Third Quarter. The Greater Mesquite Arts Foundation received $3,000. The Mesquite United Methodist Church received $500. The Moapa Valley Performing Arts Council received $1,000. The Virgin River Communities Sub for Santa received $1,000. The Virgin Valley Family Services Boxing Club received $500. The Virgin Valley Community Food Bank & Thrift Shop received $2,000.
