The organizing committee for the Greater Mesquite Festival of the ARTS has called a meeting for Thursday August 4th at 4pm in the office of GMAF, room 19 on the Mesquite campus at 150 North Yucca.

All persons interested in being involved with the planning and/or volunteering to staff the event are invited to attend this meeting.

The 5th annual Greater Mesquite Festival of the ARTS sponsored by the Greater Mesquite Arts Foundation will be held on October 8-9. Festival activities kick-off with a western jive concert and barbeque on Friday. Saturday and Sunday will feature fine arts and crafts presented by artisans from across a seven state area. The weekend’s activities include arts and crafts demonstrations, a children’s chalk art contest, a balloon artist, and much more.

Most volunteer shifts at the event are four hours and help is needed with set-up, tear-down, security, entry, and food & beverage script sales. Each year approximately 125 people contribute time to help make the event a community success.
