HEALTHLINE: A Younger Brain and Muscles for Life!

By Brent Hauver

I have exciting news for you. Would you believe me if I told you that there is a quick way to live a longer healthy life, reduce blood sugar, and lose fat even when you cheat on your diet? What if I added that you would not only lose fat, but also improve insulin sensitivity, reduce blood pressure, increase HDL levels, treat diabetes, increase lean body mass and production of human growth hormone, increased mental clarity, improved dental health, reduced blood glucose and insulin levels (markers of improved health), increased fatty acid oxidation, maintenance of lean mass (muscle), reduced inflammation, reduced oxidative damage, increased cellular stress resistance (esp of heart and brain), and decreased risks associated with degenerative diseases of aging (cancers, heart diseases, diabetes, Alzheimers)

Does that sound too incredible? Well, those are exactly the promises made by intermittent fasting, but those are not even the most exciting benefits. The most exciting claim is that it can slow or even reverse the aging process of the brain and muscles! (Fasting has been shown to increase natural growth hormone significantly, which stimulates healthy energy balance and preserves muscle mass, influencing not just metabolic health but also the longevity of physical function, or creating a healthy foundation for increased muscle mass).

Can you think of a better result?!

Intermittent fasting is a pattern of eating that alternates between fasting and eating, usually within a 24 hour period. Intermittent fasting utilizes the principles of very powerful physiological processes and will produce very dramatic results if they are applied properly. The premise behind alternating fasting and eating is regeneration.

Traditional muscle fitness programs advocate build up with as little breakdown as possible. Intermittent fasting advocates recycling muscle and brain tissue through tissue breakdown. When the body is forced to breakdown tissue, it will always destroy the old or damaged cells first. These cells are digested, broken into proteins and carried away to create new, healthy cells and tissue. This is a naturally occurring process in the body for maintaining tissue integrity and protecting against abnormal growth or deformities. As you fast and exercise, growth factors in your brain and muscles are triggered to start converting into new cells. Fasting promotes breakdown of tissue along with the removal of broken proteins. Then short, intense exercise initiates a process for converting new cells into intact muscle fibers and brain tissue. The beauty of the intermittent fasting is in the ability to harness this process in order to constantly rejuvenate muscle and brain tissue.

But here’s the kicker, you HAVE to eat easily assimilated protein within a half hour of your workout, otherwise you will not receive optimal results. The combination of fasting and short intense exercise causes the body to go into a building frenzy, but that frenzy requires immediate protein. Animal proteins will not work; they take too long to assimilate. With a 98% assimilation rate, Sunwarrior protein is a great option. The plant-based proteins in Sunwarrior protein can directly be put to use building new muscle and brain tissue allowing you to get the maximum amount of benefit from your diet and workout.

If you are interested in implementing this program into your fitness program, please find all the information you can. The more information that you have, the better able you will be to decide if this program will work for you. Please, do not implement an intermittent fasting program without reviewing as much information as possible and understanding the risk. Intermittent fasting can be an incredible option for reaching your fitness goals, but only if you have all the information.
